Job Responsibilities:
Primary Duties:
Perform Compensation & Pension (C&P) exams and Separation Health Assessments for veterans
Exams are primarily interview-based with some physical assessments, including range of motion and muscle strength testing
No prescribing or treatment required
Patient Population:
Veterans undergoing C&P exams or Separation Health Assessments
Work Locations:
Option to travel and perform exams at VES leased facilities
Alternatively, schedule veterans within your own practice
Administrative Duties:
Complete Reporting/Disability Benefits Questionnaires (DBQs) within 48 hours of exam completion
Regular follow-up administrative work, including addendums, medical opinions, and reading diagnostics
Training provided for all Reporting/DBQs
Technology Requirements:
Use of personal laptop (NO MACs)
Familiarity with VES's provider portal for evaluations
Goniometer required for physical assessments
Candidate Requirements:
Certification:
AANP (American Association of Nurse Practitioners) certification required
Licensure:
Must have an active Texas state license
Experience:
Background in family medicine, internal medicine, orthopedic surgery, or general medicine
Familiarity with musculoskeletal, diabetes, and cardiovascular conditions
Proficient in METs testing and diagnosing respiratory, cardiovascular, and neurological conditions
Additional Training:
DMA certification available for CME credits, if not already certified
