    Job Description:

    As an NPI Engineer / Document Control Specialist, you will be responsible for a broad range of engineering services functions, including design support, schematic support, PCA and PCB documentation and processes, electrical parts library management, ECO/ECR execution, document control, parts obsolescence management, compliance documentation, and sustaining engineering activities. This role works closely with engineering, manufacturing, contract manufacturers, and vendors to support the successful release and maintenance of PCB-based product lines.

    Key Responsibilities

    Product Introduction & Engineering Support

    • Interface with electrical design engineers to coordinate the release of new products.
    • Act as a liaison between internal engineering and manufacturing teams, contract manufacturers, and vendors during R&D activities.
    • Support engineers in schematic development by creating and validating symbols, generating and verifying netlists, and identifying design rule errors.
    • Review OrCAD schematics for symbol validity, design rule compliance, and netlist accuracy.
    • Resolve electrical engineering issues encountered during and after product release.
    • Work with manufacturers to address and resolve basic electrical and product-related issues.

    Documentation & Change Management

    • Maintain PCA and PCB documentation and processes.
    • Manage document control activities and engineering documentation.
    • Enter and manage ECO documentation within the PLM system, preferably Agile.
    • Support ECR and ECO execution processes.
    • Generate assembly instructions, including step-by-step procedures and supporting graphics such as photographs and assembly drawings using PowerPoint.

    Component & Compliance Management

    • Review Bills of Materials (BOMs) for accuracy, RoHS compliance, and obsolete parts.
    • Identify substitute electronic components for obsolete or non-RoHS-compliant parts.
    • Maintain electrical parts library information.
    • Support parts obsolescence management and compliance documentation activities.

    PCB & Sustaining Engineering

    • Support PCB documentation and layout-related activities.
    • Contribute to sustaining engineering efforts for released products.
    • Assist with maintenance and continuous support of PCB-based product lines.

    AI & Continuous Improvement

    • Demonstrate the ability and willingness to use AI tools to improve productivity, decision-making, work quality, and cost efficiency.
    • Identify appropriate AI use cases and critically evaluate AI-generated outputs.

    Requirements

    Education & Experience

    • Associates Degree required.
    • Minimum of 5 years of experience in an NPI role with demonstrated success releasing and maintaining PCB-based product lines.

    Technical Skills

    • Experience supporting PCB-based products throughout release and maintenance phases.
    • Ability to review and validate schematics, netlists, BOMs, and design documentation.
    • Knowledge of printed circuit board (PCB) layout.
    • Experience with document control, ECO/ECR processes, and compliance documentation.
    • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve basic electrical engineering issues.

    Soft Skills

    • Motivated and well organized in managing work assignments and deliverables.
    • Strong collaboration and communication skills with engineering, manufacturing, and external partners.

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering.
    • Experience with OrCAD and Agile integration.
    • Proficiency in OrCAD schematic entry.
    • Experience with Agile PCB and component entry.
    • BOM management experience.
    • Basic Engineering Technician skill set.
    • PCB debugging experience.

    Working Environment

    • Primarily office-based role.
    • Must be able to work full-time at a computer workstation.
    • Requires the ability to work in an electronics laboratory environment around electrical hazards.

    Compensation
