NPI Engineer | Whitehall, MI

Salary Range: $79,000 - $119,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

We are collaborating with manufacturing firms in Whitehall that are seeking skilled NPI Engineers. Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the transfer of new products from design to manufacturing.
  • Develop and optimize manufacturing processes for new product introduction.
  • Collaborate with R&D and design teams to ensure manufacturability of new products.
  • Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for NPI related issues.
  • Manage pilot production runs and ramp-up activities for new products.
  • Define and implement process control plans for new product manufacturing.
  • Support the selection and qualification of new equipment and tooling for NPI.
Recommended Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
  • 3+ years of experience in NPI (New Product Introduction) within a manufacturing environment.
  • Proven ability to interpret and translate engineering designs (CAD, schematics) into manufacturing processes.
  • Experience with PLM/PDM systems (e.g., Windchill, Agile) and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle).
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, including assembly, test, and quality control.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, cross-functional team environment.
Bonus Qualifications
  • Experience with PLM systems (e.g., Windchill, Teamcenter).
  • Familiarity with Six Sigma or Lean manufacturing principles.
  • Proficiency in a scripting language (e.g., Python, VBA) for data analysis or automation.
  • Certification in project management (e.g., PMP, CAPM).
