The NPI Technician is primarily responsible for ensuring the successful launch of the newest Energy products and sub-components, turning new engineering design to mass production. This person is expected to be able to execute against provided manufacturing instructions (if available), validate their own work, check the quality of previous operations, mentor production associates, lead builds in defined area, and meet schedules. The NPI Technician is expected to be able to provide feedback, define standard work, and suggest process improvements. Experience with hand tools and use of semi-automated manufacturing equipment is necessary.
This role will be based out of the Greater Houston Area (TX) however will be expected to work in Palo Alto/Lathrop (CA) to support prototype builds and validation for the first 1-2 months. Other travel may be required. Travel plans and reimbursement will follow Tesla's Travel Policy and will be governed by the direct manager.
