Basic Job Functions:
Nucor Steel Decatur is seeking an Electrical Engineer to support and improve highly automated steel manufacturing operations. This role offers the opportunity to work hands-on with large-scale industrial systems, lead impactful capital and process improvement projects, and contribute directly to the success of a world-class steel operation. Responsibilities include:
Minimum Qualifications:
1. The ability and desire to work safely and provide guidance for an accident-free workplace
2. Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering and two years of relevant work experience, or five years of relevant work experience in lieu of a degree
3. Experience with PLCs, HMIs, and industrial controls
4. Solid understanding of electrical engineering principles

- Supporting maintenance and operations through technical troubleshooting and system optimization
- Designing and implementing electrical and automation improvements
- Managing capital and continuous improvement projects
- Developing electrical standards, specifications, and documentation
- Troubleshooting PLCs, HMIs, drives, motors, and industrial control systems
- Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times

- Industrial networking and automation systems
- AutoCAD or electrical drawing software
- Data analysis and reporting tools
