The nuclear medicine/PET radiographer will be responsible for the following: acquisition and processing of all nuclear medicine and PET/CT exams, perform quality control on all nuclear medicine related equipment both imaging and non-imaging and receive all incoming RAM packages. These packages will be documented and handled appropriately per regulation. The NMT will prepare and administer the appropriate radiopharmaceuticals following the department's procedure manual and record the necessary data. Prior to administration, the patient will be identified by at least their full name and date of birth. Imaging procedures will be performed as outlined in the procedure manual. The technologist will explain and answer any questions the patient may have prior to beginning the procedure. Patient care will be delivered while always ensuring patient safety practices and guidelines are met. The NMT will perform all tasks following the ALARA concept to insure that levels of radiation exposure do not exceed those defined under ALARA and Federal/State agencies.
