Under the immediate supervision of the Medical Imaging Manager, is responsible for conducting routine Nuclear Medicine Exams and ensuring all Physician and patient needs are met through clinical and administrative tasks.

Position Function and Duties:

PACS:

·         Ensures all computed and digital images are properly archived on Synpase

·         Scan documents in a timely manner

·         Push images to other Hospitals

·         Burn cd's/and enter tech notes into each completed exam

 

Perform Nuclear Exams:

·         Reviews Patient history and Physicians orders

·         Educates patients regarding procedures equipment and exam to ensure patients understanding and cooperation 

·         Orders prepares administers stores and disposes of radiopharmaceuticals according to established protocols and applicable regulations/standards  

·         Monitors patient condition continually and reports/responds to changes in status as appropriate

·         Prepares equipment and supplies and selects appropriate exposure factors and imaging parameters

·         Implements safety standards and performs appropriate quality control procedures on equipment

·         Troubleshoots resolves and/or reports equipment malfunctions as necessary

·         Positions patient and performs imaging procedure

·         Analyzes results and identifies issues with the quality of imaging results

·         Takes appropriate action to resolve image quality issues including repositioning patient and repeating procedure

HIS/RIS: 

·         Ensures timely reporting of exams

·         Charges exams correctly

·         Prints schedules and checks patient orders

·         Confirms patient identity with two identifiers

·         Attends and participates in a minimum of 50% department staff meetings and signs off on review of 100% department staff meeting minutes

·         Completes all required annual education on or before the due date

·     Minimal physical effort required with occasional light lifting to a maximum of 25 pounds; stooping; and pick, pinch, type, or otherwise work primarily with fingers

·     Ability to effectively manage considerable mental stress

·     Ability to express or exchange ideas by means of the spoken word

·     Ability to receive detailed information through oral communication

·     Ability to communicate effectively with co-workers and convey information in a clear, concise and accurate manner

Qualifications:

 Education: Graduate of an accredited Nuclear Medicine Technologist Program Experience: 5 Years experience as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist

 

Job License and Certification:

    Certified as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist (CNMT) by the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB) or certified as a Technologist (RT) and certified in Nuclear Medicine (NM) by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).

    BLS through the American Heart Association.

    Must be registered with the New Hampshire Board of Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy
