As a Nuclear Med Tech, you will:
- • Perform manual and automated testing procedures in accordance with safe radiation practices
- Prepare and monitor patients for diagnostic imaging procedures
- Follow radiation safety and protection protocols
- Monitor nuclear medicine procedures to ensure accurate dosage of radiopharmaceuticals
- Maintain radiation safety in compliance with applicable laws and regulations
- Monitor and maintain radiation levels in the testing area
- Perform and document routine maintenance on nuclear medicine equipment
A few must-haves for interested Nuclear Medicine Techs:
- Requires active status through one of the following: American Registry of Radiology Technology (ARRT): Registered Technologist - Radiography, RT(R) or Nuclear Medicine, RT(NM); or Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB): Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist (CNMT).
- Requires ability to maneuver equipment and improvise positions when the condition of the patient does not permit routine positioning.
- Requires current Indiana State Department of Health license as Nuclear Medicine Technologist.
- 2 years of recent and related experience, as required by facility
- Must be able to work independently, yet together as part of a team
- Must be able to remain calm under pressure
- Proficient at taking vital signs and administering medication accordingly
- Active BLS, physical, TB test, and other medical compliance as required by facility
