As a Nuclear Med Tech, you will:

  • • Perform manual and automated testing procedures in accordance with safe radiation practices
  • Prepare and monitor patients for diagnostic imaging procedures
  • Follow radiation safety and protection protocols
  • Monitor nuclear medicine procedures to ensure accurate dosage of radiopharmaceuticals
  • Maintain radiation safety in compliance with applicable laws and regulations
  • Monitor and maintain radiation levels in the testing area
  • Perform and document routine maintenance on nuclear medicine equipment

A few must-haves for interested Nuclear Medicine Techs:

  • Requires active status through one of the following: American Registry of Radiology Technology (ARRT): Registered Technologist - Radiography, RT(R) or Nuclear Medicine, RT(NM); or Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB): Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist (CNMT).
  • Requires ability to maneuver equipment and improvise positions when the condition of the patient does not permit routine positioning.
  • Requires current Indiana State Department of Health license as Nuclear Medicine Technologist.
  • 2 years of recent and related experience, as required by facility
  • Must be able to work independently, yet together as part of a team
  • Must be able to remain calm under pressure
  • Proficient at taking vital signs and administering medication accordingly
  • Active BLS, physical, TB test, and other medical compliance as required by facility
