Job Summary
The Nuclear Medicine Technologist is responsible for performing nuclear medicine procedures to generate diagnostic images of organs, evaluate physiological functions, and analyze biological specimens. These procedures support physicians in diagnosing and treating patients effectively.
This role also involves conducting moderate to complex analysis within the department, including monitoring resource utilization, evaluating operational processes, and presenting historical data trends to enhance overall departmental performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform nuclear medicine imaging procedures in accordance with established protocols
- Prepare and administer radiopharmaceuticals safely and accurately
- Operate imaging equipment to capture high-quality diagnostic images
- Analyze biological specimens as required
- Monitor patient safety and comfort during procedures
- Collaborate with physicians and healthcare teams to support diagnosis and treatment
- Maintain accurate documentation and patient records
- Evaluate departmental processes and contribute to performance improvement initiatives
- Track and present data trends to support operational efficiency
Required Qualifications
- Current or temporary license issued by the Texas Medical Board (MRT)
- One of the following certifications:
- Registered Nuclear Medicine Technologist (ARRT-N), or
- Certification by the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB)
