Position Highlights:

  • Location: Winston Salem, North Carolina

  • PRN

What You'll Need:

  • High School diploma or GED and current enrollment in JRCNMT accredited program in Nuclear Medicine Technology

  • Certified in basic Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR)

What You'll Do:

  • Adheres to the general hospital standards to promote a cooperative work environment by utilizing communication skills, interpersonal relationships and team building. Follows hospital and departmental policies and procedures. Assumes responsibility for keeping informed about changes in policies and procedures. Participates in departmental in-service and educational offerings. Contributes to the overall quality of services.

  • Performs or assists in performing quality Nuclear Medicine examinations in a timely and efficient manner while under the supervision and/or direction of an NMTCB registered Nuclear Medicine Technologist, ensuring consistent workflow and high level of productivity.

  • Schedules procedures and maintains appropriate records which contribute to the efficiency of department operations. Coordinates with other departments as needed.

  • Assists with room preparation and restocking of rooms and other departmental storage areas with supplies necessary for patient care and procedures.

  • Participates in educational activities to enhance patient care and quality of services provided.

  • Ensures age/developmentally appropriate care is provided in accordance with Age-Specific Care Guidelines for the specific age groups served to ensure patient's needs are met.

  • Good verbal and non-verbal communication skills - able to communicate on a professional level

  • Ability to work as part of a team and to work well with physicians, co-workers and other members of the health care team

  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and potentially stressful environment

  • Ability to accept constructive criticism and performance evaluation/feedback

Operates radiopharmaceutical, computers, and scintillation detection equipment on a technical level not requiring constant supervision. Performs Nuclear medicine examinations under the direction of the Radiologist. Functions as Supervisor of a designated area at the direction of the Systems Supervisor and Manager. Operates nuclear medicine equipment to obtain diagnostic images or measurements of the radiopharmaceuticals distribution in the specified body areas and body products.
