Job Summary and Qualifications

Provides care for patients requiring Nuclear Medicine procedures. Performs all duties directly involved with procedures utilizing radioactive isotopes for diagnostic and some therapeutic purposes in accordance with ALARA standards. Operates equipment utilized to measure radiation, produce images, quantify physiologic responses, and relay images and measurements to the physician for interpretation. Employs practices and techniques to ensure the safe handling of radioactive materials, especially when dosing patients with radiopharmaceuticals, both orally and intravenously, as prescribed and authorized by the responsible licensed physician.

Qualifications:

• Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date. • Graduation from an accredited Nuclear Medicine program is required. • Nuclear Med certification with American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) NM or Certification with the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB) is required. • State of Florida HRS Licensure as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist. • 1 year of related experience.
