Job Summary

The role involves utilizing multidisciplinary skills to perform various procedures with radionuclides and radiation-detecting equipment for diagnosing and treating diseases.

Job Responsibilities

  • Conduct technical exams accurately and promptly.
  • Operate equipment, transfer patients to exam tables, position patients correctly, and ensure a safe procedure environment.
  • Perform and document quality control on equipment to ensure compliance with calibration, regulatory standards, and operational specifications.
  • Prepare, administer, dispose of, and document radiopharmaceuticals, pharmaceuticals, oral contrast, and IV contrast under physician direction and department protocols.
  • Document and maintain records of radioisotope shipping, receiving, use, storage, and disposal per regulatory and organizational policies.
  • Document and maintain room surveys, wipe tests, bioassays, and assist in quality programs.
  • Schedule exams, verify physician orders, and send documentation to medical records.
  • Maintain orderliness and cleanliness of rooms and equipment.
  • Stock supplies and linen as needed.
  • Crosstrain in other department technologies for better personnel utilization.
  • Exercise independent judgment in planning operations and making minor decisions in a technical or professional field.
  • Coordinate activities of others and lead colleagues in similar tasks.
  • Work directly with patients, customers, and other healthcare professionals and staff.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Minimum six months of related experience.
  • Excellent time management, multitasking, organizational, and prioritizing skills.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Effective interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills with diverse individuals.

Required Education

  • Graduate from an AMA-approved program in Nuclear Medicine Technology.

Required Certification & Licensure

  • CNMT (Certification in Nuclear Medicine Technology) or ARRT (N) License.
  • CPR certified.

Shift Requirements

  • At least 1 year of previous traveler experience.
  • PET experience, Siemens equipment, Epic, and a minimum of 5 years' experience.
