Sparta Networking is supporting an advanced energy company developing next-generation nuclear power systems. We are seeking a Nuclear Safety & Licensing Engineer to help guide reactor design through regulatory approval and ensure compliance with safety standards.

This role is critical in bridging engineering design with regulatory frameworks. The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of nuclear safety principles and experience working within highly regulated environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and support nuclear safety analysis reports and regulatory documentation
  • Assist in preparing licensing applications and technical submissions to the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission and other regulatory bodies
  • Perform safety and risk assessments for reactor systems and supporting infrastructure
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure designs meet safety and compliance requirements
  • Support development of safety cases, hazard analyses, and accident scenario modeling
  • Participate in design reviews to ensure safety principles are incorporated early in system design

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Nuclear Engineering or related technical discipline
  • Experience working with nuclear safety analysis or regulatory compliance
  • Knowledge of nuclear safety standards and licensing frameworks
  • Strong analytical, documentation, and problem-solving skills

Preferred Experience

  • Experience supporting reactor licensing or regulatory submissions
  • Familiarity with probabilistic risk assessment (PRA) methodologies
  • Background in advanced reactor technologies or small modular reactors
  • Experience working with nuclear regulatory agencies

Compensation

$160,000 $230,000 annually depending on experience and qualifications.
