Johnson Service Group (JSG) is currently looking for a Nuclear Services Portfolio Manager. This is a full-time permanent position with our client, who is at the forefront of advanced nuclear innovation, designing remote, robotic, and automated systems that directly support Small Modular Reactor (SMR) technology.

Target salary range: $190,000 – $210,000/year, depending on experience. + full benefits package.
Citizenship:  U.S. Citizenship is required.
Eligibility:  Must be eligible to work under DOE 10 CFR Part 810
Location: Can be based in either Houston, TX, or Corvallis, OR.
Schedule: Working 9/80, Flexible.
Hybrid: 4 days in the office

Must-haves:
  • Must have 15 years + recent exclusive nuclear industry experience
  • Must know how to write business plans, KP's, and evaluate new services for inclusion.

Position Summary:
  • The Manager, Services Portfolio, is responsible for the planning, analysis, and governance of our client’s services portfolio. The position leads to the development of business plans for new and existing service lines, monitors the health and performance of the portfolio, evaluates new service opportunities, and ensures that service requirements are reflected in product and engineering planning processes.
  • The Manager works closely with service line managers, Business Development, FP&A, and Engineering to provide the Senior Director, Plant Services, with the analytical foundation and strategic planning support needed to grow and manage the services portfolio effectively.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  1. Oversee and optimize the plant services portfolio by evaluating service lines, identifying strategic opportunities, supporting prioritization, and maintaining comprehensive documentation.
  2. Responsible for leading and overseeing the development, financial modeling, and approval process of annual and multi-year business plans for plant services, ensuring alignment with financial standards and collaboration across departments.
  3. Leads comprehensive evaluation and business case development for new plant services, coordinating technical and compliance validation, and presenting recommendations to senior leadership.
  4. Monitors service line performance through KPIs, analyzes data, identifies issues, and evaluates market trends to maintain portfolio health.
  5. Acts as liaison between Plant Services and engineering teams to ensure service requirements are integrated into product development and planning.
  6. Provides analytical and pricing support for plant services business development, including proposals, contract negotiations, and customer engagements.
  7. Leads a small team by providing guidance, setting priorities, and promoting a culture of rigor and improvement.
  8. Provides analytical, planning, and reporting support for senior leadership, ensures compliance and process improvements, assists with workforce planning, and conducts ad hoc research as needed.
  9. Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Skills, Qualifications, and Abilities:
  • Education:  A minimum of a B.S. degree in engineering, engineering technology, or science is required. MBA or advanced engineering degree desired.
  • Experience: A minimum of fifteen years of full-time working experience for a nuclear reactor technology development company, five of which in its services delivery organization, is required. 
  • Senior Reactor Operator certification at an operating nuclear generating facility, nuclear-related construction and startup experience, or nuclear technology or services business development experience desired. 
  • Strong technical writing, communication, and leadership skills. Basic understanding of project management principles and related information technology tools. 
  • Must be able to demonstrate the capability of managing and motivating personnel assigned to designated control account work and coordinating multiple technical discipline interfaces to provide solutions on time.
  • Industry Requirements: Eligible to work under the Department of Energy 10 CFR Part 810.  With appropriate training, able to work on an active power plant construction project site in connection with the service delivery organization’s delivery of pre-commercial operation services
