Description
The Nurse Aide Certified position coordinates with the analysis of patient care needs in order to provide appropriate and efficient care. Working under limited supervision for routine situations, this role actively documents patient care information, processes recommendations, handles patient care responsibilities, and maintains accurate documentation.
Essential Job Function
Observes and reports changes in patient symptoms and behaviors to the Registered Nurse in order to make necessary changes to the care plan.
Responds to verbal and nonverbal communication from psychiatric patients in order to communicate empathetically and meet needs.
Facilitates patient educational groups.
Provides patient care as delegated by the Registered Nurse as follows: vital signs, capillary blood glucose, EKG, transports patients via wheelchair/stretcher (without EKG monitoring), bathes, turns, and repositions patients, assists with ambulation of patients, assists with meeting elimination needs.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Education
Required: High school graduate or equivalentCompletion of a state approved Nurse Aide 1 training
Experience
Required: NonePreferred: 1 year experience as a nursing assistant
Licensure/Certification/Listing
Required: Successfully complete BLS (CPR)-American Red Cross or AHA Healthcare Provider within 30 days of hire date.Current good standing with the NC Nurse Aide Registry verified through DFS https://www.ncnar.org/verify_listings1.jspMust have reliable transportation with adequate insurance as determined by the organization.Valid NC Driver''s License and current automobile insurance
