POSITION: Daily Substitute School Nurse (per-diem)

Putnam Public Schools is seeking qualified and compassionate Daily Substitute School Nurses to provide high-quality healthcare services across the district on a per-diem, as-needed, day-to-day basis. The ideal candidate will promote student health and wellness, manage acute medical needs, and maintain a safe, caring environment for all students. Putnam offers a collaborative culture of educators and healthcare professionals dedicated to supporting the well-being of our school community.

MAJOR DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Health Assessment & Care: Evaluate and treat student injuries, illnesses, and healthcare needs during the school day.
• Medication Administration: Safely administer prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with state guidelines and district policies.
• Emergency Response: Provide immediate first aid and emergency triage as needed.
• Documentation & Communication: Maintain accurate, confidential health records and communicate effectively with families, staff, and administration.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• Licensure: Valid Connecticut Registered Nurse (RN) License.
• Certification: Current CPR/AED Certification.
• Knowledge & Skills: Strong clinical assessment skills, ability to work independently, and excellent interpersonal skills with students and staff.
• Background Check: Ability to pass a comprehensive background check and meet district employment requirements.

START DATE: Immediate Opening

RATE OF PAY: $43.04 per hour
