    Description

    Job Summary:

    Manages educational department, in accordance with current standards of practice, rules, regulations and guidelines that govern the long-term care facility to ensure facility compliance. Plans, implements, directs, and evaluates the education program in the facility based on identified resident needs, staff needs, federal, state, and local regulations.

    • Plans and publishes the in-service calendar for all mandatory in-services.
    • Arranges education programs and staff trainings during the year.
    • Provides regular continuing education programs for nurses.
    • Conducts an annual competency skills evaluation of nurses in preparation for their performance evaluation.
    • Acts as the liaison between the nursing instructors and affiliated students.
    • Maintains a resource center with current geriatric literature and other media.
    • Maintains and submits to HR all training attendance documentation.
    • Compiles necessary reports for DPH and other regulatory agencies.
    • Supervises student instructors during any resident contact and care.
    • Supervise the CNA Class

    Qualifications:

    • Current NM RN License.
    • Current CPR certification.
    • Minimum of 1 years' experience in nursing supervision or nursing management in a long-term care setting.
    • Knowledge of geriatric, rehabilitative, and nursing care.
    • Professional attitude, high degree of self-motivation and leadership qualities.
