The Registered Nurse (RN) in our facility serves as a vital member of the healthcare team, providing compassionate, patient-centered care to residents in a structured environment. This role involves monitoring patient health, administering treatments, advocating for patient needs, and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to ensure high-quality medical and mental health care. RNs in this setting play a crucial role in fostering residents' recovery, rehabilitation, and overall well-being.


Key Responsibilities


Patient Care


      Provide direct nursing care to residents, including routine monitoring of vital signs, administering medications, and performing medical procedures as needed.
      Develop and implement individual care plans tailored to the medical and mental health needs of each resident.
      Respond promptly to medical emergencies, employing critical thinking and problem-solving skills to stabilize patients.
      Educate residents and their families about treatment plans, medications, and self-care practices to ensure a comprehensive understanding of their health needs.



Collaboration and Communication


      Work closely with LCCA, Program Director, physicians, psychiatrists, therapists, social workers, and other members of the care team to develop and execute treatment strategies.
      Participate in regular case reviews to assess progress and adjust care plans accordingly.
      Document patient information accurately and promptly, maintaining compliance with legal and ethical standards for healthcare records.
      Advocate for residents’ rights and well-being, always ensuring a safe and supportive environment.



Administrative and Leadership Duties


      Supervise and train support staff, including direct delivery caregivers, case managers, licensed practical nurses (LPNs) and certified nursing assistants (CNAs), ensuring adherence to best practices and facility protocols.
      Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local healthcare regulations, as well as the policies of the Residential Treatment Center.
      Assist in the development and implementation of quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and outcomes.


Qualifications


Education and Certification


      Active and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of employment.
      Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN preferred).
      BLS (Basic Life Support) and/or ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification.
      Additional certifications in psychiatric or mental health nursing (preferred but not required).



Experience and Skills


      Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a nursing role, preferably in a residential, behavioral health, or long-term care setting.
      Strong clinical skills with the ability to handle mental health crises and medical emergencies effectively.
      Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
      Ability to adapt to a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
