    Under direct supervision of a Registered Nurse, performs patient care duties. The LPN provides care based on the Nurse Practice Act and his/her assessed competency utilizing hospital established standards of care and practice. Assignments are performed appropriately to age and developmental level of patients being served.

    Qualifications

    Requirements

    • Vocational Training
    • Graduation from an approved Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) program
    • Completion of a 30-hour IV Therapy Course for LPNs approved by the Florida Board of Nursing pursuant to Rule 64B9-5.006
    • Less than one (1) year of training as an LPN
    • Adheres to hospital policies and Florida Nurse Practice Act guidelines in providing patient care
    • Demonstrates effective problem-solving and communication skills with patients, families, and other healthcare professionals

    Preferred Experience

    • One (1) year of geriatric experience as an LPN
    • Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association

    Required Licensure/Certifications

    • Licensed to practice Practical Nursing in the State of Florida
    • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association
