Job Summary and Qualifications This position will be accountable for the Maternal Fetal Institute (MFI) Clinic and accepts responsibility for all department functions of the Specialty Obstetric Referral Center (SORC). This position requires an RN license thereby accepting responsibility for critical thinking decisions within the scope of the Registered Nurse Practice Act. This role also oversees the Antepartum department. The Department manager is responsible for all departmental functions in support of the hospital mission, vision and facility goals. The manager identifies the cost-effective systems needed to support the business of the department taking into account business trends, resource availability and changes in customers. This position establishes effective working relationships with all constituencies, including patients, physicians, employees, volunteers and vendors and is responsible for fiscal and human resource allocation based on guidelines. The manager develops plan of care for services based upon RN assessment/ re-assessment. Is responsible for maintaining all requirements needed to function as a staff nurse in order to perform these duties in times of high census and or minimal staffing.
