Salary Range: $145,000 – $160,000 annually

Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Nurse Manager – Behavioral Health to lead operations within a hospital-based psychiatric unit. This role requires a strong clinical leader with proven experience managing a psych unit, ensuring high-quality patient care, regulatory compliance, and team development.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee daily operations of the behavioral health unit
Lead and support nursing staff and interdisciplinary teams
Ensure compliance with hospital policies and regulatory standards (DOH, JCAHO, etc.)
Monitor patient admissions, discharges, and care planning
Drive performance improvement initiatives and quality outcomes
Prepare reports and maintain clinical and operational data
Manage staffing, budgeting, and inventory
Ensure patient care standards and competencies are consistently met
Provide administrative leadership and coverage when needed
Implement best practices in behavioral health care
Requirements
MUST HAVE: Experience managing a psychiatric unit in a hospital setting
Minimum 5 years of experience as a Registered Nurse (RN)
Minimum 5 years of psychiatric clinical experience
At least 2 years in a leadership role
Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
Knowledge of CQI, performance improvement, and Root Cause Analysis
Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
Education
Required: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
Preferred: Master’s Degree in Nursing
Certifications & Licensure
Active New York State RN License (Required)
BLS Certification
ACLS Certification
Crisis Management Certification (PMCS, TRUST, or equivalent)
