We are representing Encompass Health, a national leader in inpatient rehabilitation, seeking an experienced Nurse Manager for its Boise, Idaho hospital.

This is a hands-on nursing leadership opportunity for an RN who enjoys being close to both patients and staff while taking responsibility for day-to-day nursing operations.

The Nurse Manager will supervise nursing care on an assigned shift or unit, support clinical staff, ensure appropriate staffing, address operational and patient-care issues, and help create an environment where nurses can deliver consistent, high-quality rehabilitation care.

This role can be particularly attractive for experienced Charge Nurses, Nursing Supervisors, Assistant Nurse Managers, or current Nurse Managers who want broader leadership responsibility within a structured hospital environment.

Job Details

The Nurse Manager provides direct leadership and oversight for nursing operations within an assigned shift or unit.

The role is responsible for ensuring that appropriate nursing resources are in place, patient-care activities are completed according to clinical standards, and nursing staff receive the direction, support, and development needed to perform effectively.

This position requires someone who can balance clinical judgment with people leadership. The ideal candidate understands inpatient hospital nursing, can confidently handle staffing and operational issues, and has previously taken accountability for both patient and staff outcomes.

Responsibilities

Supervise the delivery of nursing care, treatment, and services on an assigned shift or unit
Ensure required patient-care activities are completed accurately and appropriately
Assign nursing personnel based on patient acuity, staffing needs, and operational requirements
Ensure appropriate nursing coverage is maintained throughout the shift or unit
Provide leadership, direction, and support to nursing staff
Address clinical, staffing, and operational issues as they arise
Partner with hospital leadership to identify staff training and development needs
Support quality, safety, and regulatory standards across nursing operations
Assist with staff coaching, performance accountability, and development
Promote effective interdisciplinary communication and continuity of care
Maintain a patient-centered approach throughout the rehabilitation process

Qualifications

Active Registered Nurse license as required by Idaho regulations
Current BLS certification
ACLS certification or ability to obtain within one year of starting the position
CRRN certification or ability to obtain within one year of becoming eligible
Bachelor's degree in Nursing or related field preferred
Minimum 5 years of nursing experience
At least 2 recent years of nursing experience within an inpatient hospital setting
Previous nursing leadership experience required
