Patient Resource Coordinator

Position Summary

The Patient Resource Coordinator is a clinical andoperational nursing leader responsible for coordinating patient flow,supporting daily operations, optimizing staffing, and ensuring safe, efficient,patient-centered care. This role partners with nursing leadership andinterdisciplinary teams to improve throughput, enhance quality outcomes, andmaintain compliance with organizational and regulatory standards.

Essential Responsibilities

·Coordinate patient throughput, admissions,transfers, and discharges to maximize patient flow.

·Support daily nursing operations and collaboratewith department leadership.

·Monitor staffing levels based on patient acuity,census, and organizational staffing guidelines.

·Conduct routine patient safety and qualityrounds.

·Serve as a clinical resource and provide directpatient care when needed.

·Promote compliance with evidence-based practice,accreditation standards, and applicable regulations.

·Collaborate with physicians, case management,bed management, and ancillary departments.

Leadership & Team Development

·Mentor, coach, and support nursing staff.

·Assist with hiring, onboarding, orientation, andcompetency validation.

·Provide real-time feedback and encourageprofessional development.

·Promote teamwork, accountability, communication,and employee engagement.

Quality & Performance Improvement

·Monitor quality indicators and patientsatisfaction metrics.

·Identify workflow improvements to enhanceefficiency and patient outcomes.

·Support safety initiatives, risk management, andregulatory readiness.

Financial & Operational Support

·Assist leadership with labor management,productivity, inventory, and cost-control initiatives.

·Support departmental budgeting goals throughefficient resource utilization.

Qualifications

·Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing; BSNpreferred.

·Minimum three years of acute care hospitalexperience.

·Charge nurse or other progressive leadershipexperience preferred.

·Current Registered Nurse license in the state ofemployment.

·BLS and ACLS required; additional specialtycertifications may be required.

·Excellent communication, conflict resolution,and leadership skills.

·Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilitiesin a fast-paced healthcare environment.

·Knowledge of regulatory and accreditationrequirements.

Physical Requirements

·Ability to stand, walk, lift, bend, and performduties in a clinical environment.

·May be exposed to infectious diseases and otherhealthcare hazards; appropriate PPE is required.
