The Critical Care Department (CCU) at North Alabama Medical Center (NAMC) in Florence, Alabama offers Registered Nurses the opportunity to work in a dynamic, high-acuity environment that bridges critical care and medical-surgical nursing. This department is ideal for RNs who thrive on critical thinking, continuous learning, and hands-on patient care while building strong clinical skills.

In the CCU, nurses care for patients who require close monitoring and advanced interventions, including cardiac and respiratory conditions, post-operative recovery, and complex medical diagnoses. With a strong focus on evidence-based practice and patient-centered care, nurses play a vital role in managing telemetry, titrating medications, and collaborating closely with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to deliver exceptional outcomes.

  • Serve as the accountable leader for all aspects of Critical Care.

  • Drive continuous improvement in outcomes, cost of care, and patient satisfaction.

  • Partner with quality leadership to ensure compliance with accreditation standards and advance toward becoming a highly reliable organization.

  • Collaborate with other service line leaders, facility leadership, and system executives to provide consistent, patient-centered care.

  • Support provider and staff recruitment, retention, and engagement.

  • Demonstrate values through inspirational leadership and a commitment to patient-centered outcomes.

  • Collaboration: Partner with physicians, advanced practice providers, and hospital leadership to enhance care coordination, patient experience, and service delivery.

  • Oversee ongoing staff education, competency, and adherence to clinical and patient safety standards.

Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:00AM- 4:00PM

What we're looking for

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)

  • Current Alabama RN license (or eligible for licensure).

  • Three or more years of experience in all aspects of medical surgical nursing and a minimum of 2 years supervisory experience Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and build effective relationships team

  • Experience with budgeting, financial management, and resource allocation in acute care settings.

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and implement performance-improvement initiatives.

  • BLS required and ACLS preferred (or obtained within a defined timeframe)
