What We Offer:

We are looking for a dynamic Nurse Manager to lead Emergency Services throughout the Lowcountry!

 

This isn't just a unit management role; it is a strategic leadership position providing operational oversight for a diverse network of care, including:

  • Two Hospital EDs: Hilton Head Hospital and Coastal Carolina Medical Center.

  • Two Freestanding EDs: Tidewatch and our newest site, Bluffton FSED (opening summer 2026).

 

As the primary architect of this service line, you will harmonize clinical standards and operational excellence across all four sites, ensuring a seamless, remarkable experience for every patient in our care.  Your role is to provide the leadership and strategic oversight required to maintain operational excellence throughout our regional expansion. 

What We're Looking For:
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree required. Graduate of an accredited nursing program required. Master's degree preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum of two years clinical RN experience in an acute care setting required.
  • Licensure/certification/registration: Current RN licensure in appropriate state required. BLS required. Prior demonstrated leadership preferred.
  • Additional skills required: Understands and applies: current and future trends/practice in area of responsibility; regulatory and governing standards, policies and procedures; information systems and software used in area of responsibility; equipment used in performing assigned duties; application of safety and infection control policies and procedures; skills in interviewing and selection process; understanding of budgeting, staffing, payroll and purchasing processes; implementation of competency, feedback, development and progressive discipline processes; teambuilding, conflict management, and interpersonal relationship skills; principles of adult learning and teaching methods/models; decision making, project leadership and consultation, delegation and communication skills; customer needs and expectations and knowledge for improvement to exceed customer expectations; principles of change management.
  • Additional skills preferred: Board certification in area of practice.

  • Service Line Strategy: Drive the long-term vision for emergency services across the region, balancing the unique needs of both hospital-based and freestanding environments.
  • Operational Synthesis: Optimize patient flow and resource allocation across the network, leveraging the strengths of each site to improve system-wide throughput.

  • Quality Stewardship: Serve as the regional authority on clinical quality and safety, ensuring all sites exceed regulatory benchmarks and patient satisfaction goals.

  • Financial Oversight: Manage a complex budget and capital resource plan for the entire four-site service line.

  • A Systems Thinker: You excel at seeing the "big picture" and understand how multi-site operations intersect to create a robust patient care network.

  • An Empowering Leader: You have a proven ability to manage other leaders, giving them the autonomy to run their units while providing the strategic support they need to succeed.

  • Adaptive & Decisive: You are comfortable navigating the complexities of different ED environments, from high-acuity hospital settings to the streamlined efficiency of a freestanding ED.
