$64.00 - $75.00 per hour
Job Summary
The Nurse Manager is responsible for assessing, planning, directing, and evaluating patient care for an assigned patient care nursing unit on a 24 hour basis. The incumbent assures the delivery of quality services and that professional nursing is practiced in accordance with the established standards of nursing and the standards of practice at Emerson Hospital.
Reporting to this position are various clinical, professional, and support positions including:
- Registered Nurses
- Certified Nurse Assistants
- Patient Care Assistants
- Unit Secretaries
Minimum Qualifications
Education
- Bachelors degree in Nursing from an accredited school of nursing
Experience
- Requires a minimum of 5 years of nursing experience within specialty area and 3-5 years of supervisory experience
- An equivalent combination of education and experience which provides proficiency in the areas of responsibility listed above may be substituted for the above education and experience requirements
Licensure and/or Certification
- Current RN license in the state of Massachusetts
- Specialty certification in one of the areas to be supervised required
Skills
- Advanced nursing skills
- Computer proficiency including Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook
- Excellent customer service skills
- Must have the ability to read, write, and communicate in English
- Ability to maintain confidential information required
- The ability to plan, organize, and direct the work of others
- The ability to foster successful team efforts working with a variety of management, medical, clinical staff
- The ability to respond effectively in emergency situations
- The ability to assist in preparing and monitoring departmental budgets
- The ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing to accomplish duties
