The Department of Supportive Oncology at Atrium Health Levine Cancer is an internationally recognized program providing comprehensive, patient-centered care across eight practice locations in the Greater Charlotte area. Through an integrated co-management model, the Supportive Oncology clinicians work alongside oncology teams to deliver coordinated care that addresses the physical, psychosocial, functional, nutritional, and survivorship needs of patients with cancer from the time of diagnosis and throughout their cancer journey. Staffed by highly specialized, certified, and credentialed clinicians, the Department is distinguished by its collaborative intradisciplinary approach, virtual access, and academic initiatives in advancing supportive oncology care.
The Nurse Manager will oversee Cancer Survivorship, Integrative Oncology, and Senior Oncology programs, partnering with physicians, APPs, therapists, and clinicians to ensure programs are effective, efficient, and aligned with guidelines. This role will also serve as the department's nursing advisor in collaboration with Oncology Palliative Medicine, Psycho-Oncology, and Cancer Rehabilitation specialties. Oncology leadership experience is strongly preferred; education or experience in integrative medicine, lifestyle and wellness approaches, health coaching, and/or age-friendly care is also preferred.
Essential Functions
Physical Requirements
Work requires walking, standing, sitting, lifting, reaching, stooping, bending, pushing, and pulling. Must be able to lift and support the weight of 35 pounds in handling patients, medical equipment, and supplies. Must speak and understand English fluently. Intact sense of sight, hearing, smell, touch. Finger dexterity. Critical thinking and ability to concentrate. Must be able to respond quickly to changes in patient and / or unit/department conditions.
Education, Experience and Certifications
Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing required. Current RN licensure in appropriate state. Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) preferred. Must have or complete MSN if undergraduate degree is not BSN. Enrollment in MSN program within 1 year of hire/transfer date and graduation of MSN program required within 5 years of hire. If undergraduate degree is BSN, a master's degree from a health-related program or MBA is acceptable. Previous management experience preferred. BLS required per policy guidelines. Appropriate professional certification (either clinical or leadership) is required within 1 year of eligibility for professional certification exam. Additional education, training, certifications, or experience may be required within the department by the nurse leader.
