Nurse Manager – Medical Surgical Oncology

Brooklyn community hospital seeks a dedicated Nurse Manager for their Medical Surgical Oncology Unite to lead a dynamic inpatient oncology team at a leading This leadership role is responsible for overseeing clinical operations, ensuring exceptional patient outcomes, supporting staff development, and promoting excellence in oncology nursing care.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and oversight for the Medical Surgical Oncology unit, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, evidence-based care to oncology patients.
• Manage daily operations including staffing, scheduling, patient throughput, resource utilization, and regulatory compliance.
• Lead, mentor, and develop nursing staff through coaching, education, performance
• management, and succession planning initiatives.
• Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, case management, pharmacy, and interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes and care coordination.
• Monitor quality, safety, and patient satisfaction metrics, implementing performance improvement initiatives to enhance clinical outcomes.
• Ensure compliance with hospital policies, oncology standards of care, accreditation requirements, and state and federal regulations.
• Participate in strategic planning, budget management, and departmental initiatives to support operational excellence and organizational goals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required
• Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) or related healthcare field preferred
• Current New York State Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing
• Oncology Certified Nurse (OCN®) certification required
• Previous nursing leadership experience in Medical Surgical, Oncology, Hematology/Oncology, or related acute care settings required
• Strong leadership, communication, and clinical decision-making skills with a passion for delivering exceptional oncology care

Salary: $140,000 - $170,000
