Facility Overview
A large, fully accredited acute care hospital in South Florida is seeking an experienced Nurse Manager RN – Behavioral Health. The facility is a Level II Trauma Center and a designated stroke center, offering a wide range of inpatient and specialty services. The organization is committed to delivering high-quality, patient-centered care and maintaining strong clinical standards.
Position Summary
The Nurse Manager RN – Behavioral Health is responsible for overseeing daily operations of a 53-bed inpatient Behavioral Health unit, with 24/7 accountability. This leadership role focuses on clinical quality, staff development, operational efficiency, financial performance, and patient satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee daily unit operations with full accountability
- Plan and manage staff schedules and assignments
- Participate in hiring, performance evaluations, coaching, and disciplinary actions
- Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and organizational policies
- Collaborate with hospital leadership, physicians, and interdisciplinary teams
- Lead and mentor a multidisciplinary team including RNs, Behavioral Health Technicians, and Charge Nurses
- Maintain safe staffing levels and ensure quality patient care
- Provide leadership for adult and geriatric inpatient populations
Required Qualifications
- Active Florida RN license or Compact RN license
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
- BLS certification (or within 30 days of hire)
- ACLS certification (or within 30 days of hire)
- CPI (Nonviolent Crisis Intervention) certification (or within 90 days of hire)
- Minimum 3 years of Behavioral Health nursing experience in an acute care setting
Preferred Qualifications
- 3–5 years of inpatient psychiatric clinical experience
- 1–3 years of leadership experience (e.g., Charge RN, Assistant Nurse Manager, Supervisor, or Coordinator)
