Under the direction of the Director of Nursing provides 24-hour operational accountability for Wyman 2, a 15-bed Inpatient Geriatric Psychiatry unit.

Collaborates with the Director, and other nursing and interdisciplinary leaders, to develop and oversee a safe and therapeutic environment for all patients and a high performing work environment for all staff. The manager is responsible for all staff related matters, and operating the respective teams within budgetary guidelines, while continuing enhance quality patient care.

About the Role

Reporting to the Director of Nursing, the Nurse Manager provides 24-hour operational leadership and accountability for Wyman 2. This leader partners closely with nursing and interdisciplinary colleagues to foster a safe, therapeutic environment for patients while cultivating a high-performing, engaged workforce.

The Nurse Manager oversees staff management, operational performance, quality outcomes, patient experience, and financial stewardship while advancing a culture of excellence in care delivery.

What You''ll Do

Lead and Develop an Exceptional Team

• Recruit, develop, mentor, and retain talented nursing professionals
• Provide ongoing performance management, coaching, and professional development
• Foster a positive workplace culture focused on staff engagement, collaboration, and excellence
• Support staff in identifying patient care priorities and strengthening clinical decision-making skills

Advance Clinical Excellence

• Partner with interdisciplinary teams to ensure safe, evidence-based patient care
• Serve as a clinical resource and consultant for complex patient care situations
• Promote patient advocacy and therapeutic treatment approaches
• Participate in multidisciplinary clinical meetings focused on patient outcomes

Drive Quality and Operational Success

• Collaborate with the Director of Nursing on budgeting, financial oversight, and resource management
• Lead process improvement initiatives to achieve or exceed organizational benchmarks
• Review incident reports, restraint and seclusion documentation, and partner with quality teams on performance improvement efforts
• Ensure compliance with all regulatory, accreditation, and hospital requirements

Support Professional Nursing Practice

• Collaborate in developing and implementing nursing standards, policies, and best practices
• Utilize nursing research to advance patient care and clinical outcomes
• Identify educational needs and facilitate learning opportunities for staff
• Represent nursing and the department on hospital-wide committees and initiatives

Qualifications

Required

• Current Massachusetts Registered Nurse licensure
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
• Current AHA BLS certification
• 3-5 years of related nursing experience
• 0-1 years of supervisory or management experience
• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within interdisciplinary teams

Preferred

• Master''s Degree in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, or Business Administration
• Experience with EPIC and other electronic health record systems
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications

Compensation: $165,000 - $215,000 annually

Physical Requirements: Medium work classification. Position requires standing and mobility throughout the majority of the shift and the ability to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and up to 20 pounds frequently.

Pay Range:

$165,000.00 USD - $215,000.00 USD

The pay range listed for this position is the annual base salary range the organization reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for this position at this time. Actual compensation is determined based on several factors, that may include seniority, education, training, relevant experience, relevant certifications, geography of work location, job responsibilities, or other applicable factors permissible by law.
