Position Overview
The Perioperative Registered Nurse (RN) provides individualized, goal-directed nursing care across select phases of perioperative care. Utilizing the nursing process and professional standards, the RN maintains overall accountability for patient outcomes while collaborating with and delegating tasks to a multidisciplinary surgical team.
Patient Population: All age groups
Reporting To: Nurse Manager
Key Responsibilities
Direct Patient Care: Manage and deliver high-quality nursing care using the nursing process and principles of primary nursing.
Leadership & Accountability: Perform all staff nurse activities and step into the Charge Nurse role when assigned.
Team Collaboration: Maintain overall responsibility for assigned patients while effectively delegating tasks to Surgical Technologists, Patient Care Associates, Guest Associates, and Anesthesia Technologists.
Compliance: Ensure all clinical activities align strictly with departmental and hospital policies, procedures, and professional standards.
Qualifications:
Required Qualifications
Education: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
Note: Associates Degree accepted, but new hires must obtain a BSN within three (3) years of hire or transfer.
