    Salary Range:

    We are seeking a dedicated Nurse Practitioner to join our cardiac surgery team, providing post-operative care on a step-down unit. This is a non-surgical role focused entirely on the management and recovery of patients following cardiac procedures. The position offers a consistent weekday schedule with no weekend, holiday, or ICU coverage.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Provide comprehensive post-operative management for cardiac surgery patients in a step-down setting
    • Perform daily patient assessments, including monitoring clinical status and recovery progress
    • Manage medications, including titration and adjustments based on patient needs
    • Coordinate care plans in collaboration with cardiac surgeons, nurses, and multidisciplinary teams
    • Address post-operative complications and initiate appropriate interventions
    • Facilitate patient and family education related to recovery, medications, and discharge planning
    • Ensure timely and accurate documentation in the electronic medical record

    Qualifications

    • Current licensure as a Nurse Practitioner
    • Board certification (ACNP, AGACNP, FNP, or related)
    • Experience in cardiology, cardiac surgery, or acute care preferred
    • Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills
    • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-based environment
    • Strong knowledge of anatomy, pathophysiology, pharmacology, and medical-surgical care.
    • Excellent clinical judgment, teamwork, and communication skills.
