    College/Department Information

    At Student Health Services (SHS) our mission is to foster positive patient outcomes by providing professional medical and psychiatric services for Augusta University students. We prioritize patient safety, quality healthcare, professionalism, and compassion as our service standards. We aim to assist each student to achieve and maintain holistic well-being in order to reach their maximum potential within the academic (undergraduate, graduate, and professional) programs at Augusta University.

    Job Summary

    This position will provide health and medical care for populations across the health continuum. In conjunction with the mission of the university, it will serve as liaison to the CON units and functions and provide leadership and excellence in teaching future health care professionals.

    Responsibilities

    The duties include, but are not limited to:

    PROCESS OF CARE: The FNP-DNP will apply scientific process and national nursing and healthcare standards of care to manage evidence-based patient and family-centered care. Delivery of care may be direct or via telecommunications (telehealth) in a clinical or community setting, including the home. The level of service will vary in acuity from convenient to complex care.

    COMMUNICATION AND COLLABORATION: The FNP-DNP will communicate and collaborate as a primary care provider for the patient and family and as a leader and/or member of inter-professional teams with the other healthcare specialists, insurers, employers, and governmental agency officials. Communications will meet national standards to be appropriate for the family and language proficiency, literacy level, and preferences.

    DOCUMENTATION: The FNP-DNP will maintain accurate and confidential records in the electronic health record. The FNP-DNP will document findings and actions appropriately in the patients health record

    QUALITY, ETHICAL, AND INDEPENDENT PRACTICE: The FNP-DNP will maintain quality and ethical competencies for independent advanced practice.

    OTHER: Perform other duties as assigned.

    Required Qualifications

    Graduation from an accredited Nurse Practitioner (NP) program. Certified as a Nurse Practitioner by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) or equivalent body. Active and unrestricted licensure to practice nursing from the Georgia Board of Nursing and via protocol with the Georgia Composite Medical Board. Must maintain status as a certified NP, including completion of all requirements for continuing nursing and medical education or recertification. Must possess a current American Heart Association Healthcare Provider BLS/BCLS certification. Must possess a current American Heart Association Healthcare Provider ACLS certification or obtain within first year of employment.

    Preferred Qualifications

    Doctorate of Nursing Practice from an accredited college or university. Three years of experience as a nurse practitioner.

    KNOWLEDGE

    Proficient in Microsoft Office and other computer software/databases.

    SKILLS

    Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.

    Detail-oriented with strong prioritization and organizational skills.

    ABILITIES

    Ability to maintain confidentiality.

    Ability to coordinate multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines despite frequent interruptions.

    Ability to keep accurate records and make independent decisions.

    Shift/Salary/Benefits

    Shift: Days; M-F (Work outside of the standard business hours may be required)

    Salary to be commensurate with qualifications of the selected candidate within the established range (generally minimum-midpoint) of the position
