TeamHealth and Arrowhead Regional Medical Center are seeking a full-time advanced practice clinician to join our diabetes clinic working closely with a board-certified physician specialist in a collaborative academic public hospital environment.
This role is ideal for a physician assistant or nurse practitioner who is passionate about diabetes care and patient education. The position is approximately 70 direct clinical care and 30 diabetes education and teaching allowing for meaningful longitudinal patient relationships and a strong impact on patient outcomes. The APC will be fully supervised at all times by a board-certified specialist with strong clinical support and mentorship in a team-based academic setting.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide outpatient clinical care for patients with diabetes and related metabolic conditions • Collaborate closely with the supervising physician specialist in patient evaluation and management • Deliver diabetes education including lifestyle counseling, medication education, and self-management support • Participate in patient and family education tailored to a diverse population • Communicate effectively with multidisciplinary team members including physicians, nurses, educators, and support staff • Document patient care and education accurately and timely in the electronic medical record • Contribute to a positive learning environment within an academic public hospital setting
Qualifications:
Licensed PA preferred. NPs will be considered. Prior clinical experience required, focused diabetes experience strongly preferred. Experience in an academic public hospital or managed care environment is a plus. Bilingual in Spanish preferred. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Enjoys working in a teaching-focused mission-driven and collaborative clinical environment.

Academic public hospital setting. Strong physician supervision and mentorship. Team-based care model. Outpatient-focused clinic. Schedule: Full-time FTE. Standard outpatient clinic hours. Competitive compensation with estimated base salary range of $156,000 to $197,600 annually.
