Kids First Health Care is a mission-driven nonprofit providing high-quality pediatric and adolescent primary care to children and young adults ages 0 to 21 through community clinics and school-based health centers in Adams County.
Founded in 1978 as Colorado’s first school-based health center, we believe every child deserves access to care. Our integrated, whole-child model brings together medical, behavioral health, education, and care navigation to help kids thrive at home, in school, and in their communities.
About Your RoleThe Pediatric Nurse Practitioner is responsible for: independently providing outpatient diagnostic, treatment, and preventive health care services; management of chronic illness; utilizing appropriate referrals and consultation to staff physician and community specialist; working in an integrated team with behavioral health providers, health educators, and dental hygienists; and providing health education to patients.
School-based health center (SBHC) nurse practitioners work during the academic school year (approximately 10 months) based on the district calendar. They work out of a primary, middle, or high school location, but sometimes need to cover other sites, either SBHCs or community clinics in Adams County.
