Thundermist Health Center is looking for a skilled, compassionate Nurse Practitioner to join our Convenient Care team. In this role, you'll deliver walk-in and same-day medical care to patients across our community - treating acute illness and injury, performing point-of-care testing and minor procedures, and making real-time clinical decisions as an autonomous, licensed provider. Provide comprehensive patient care including history, physical examination, anticipatory guidance, and management of acute and chronic illnessEvaluate and treat acute, episodic illness and injury - lacerations, fractures, sprains, infections, and morePerform point-of-care testing (rapid strep, flu, COVID, urinalysis, STI, and more)Perform wound care, suturing, splinting, and minor surgical proceduresOrder diagnostic tests (X-ray, ultrasound, labs) and initiate treatment based on resultsPrescribe medications within scope of practiceTriage patients and determine the appropriate level of care, escalation, or transferProvide discharge instructions and coordinate appropriate follow-up careMaintain complete and accurate patient records with same-day documentationSupervise and mentor nurse practitioner students as assigned
Administrative & Quality
Participate in peer chart review on a rotating basisContribute to departmental and team meetingsMeet patient throughput and productivity standardsMaintain compliance with credentialing, re-credentialing, and privileging requirementsParticipate in quality improvement initiatives

Schedule & LocationsThis is a full-time (40 hours/week) position with a flexible shift structure: two 12-hour shifts and two 8-hour shifts per week. The schedule includes every other weekend and shared holiday coverage. You'll provide care across our Woonsocket, West Warwick, and South Kingstown locations. Clinic hours are Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m.-8:00 p.m., and weekends 9:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. (including closing responsibilities).Benefits at Thundermist Health CenterFull-Time Employees Working 40+ Hours/Week
