Overview:
The Cardiothoracic APP is a registered professional nurse who functions within prescribed guidelines, as an independent care provider in collaboration with the Cardiac Surgeons and Cardiac Critical care intensivists in the management of pre-post operative Cardiothoracic patients, Heart Transplant patients, lung transplant patients, Advanced heart therapies patients and structural heart patients.
Care is provided to inpatients in the state of the art cardiac surgery intensive care unit.
The NP serves as a resource for nursing staff and other members of the interdisciplinary team in regards to patient care and disease management
