    Job Description

    Summary 

    TheNursePractitioner/PhysicianAssistantisresponsibleforprovidingqualitycaretopatientswhile under thesupervision ofalicensed physician. 

    EssentialDutiesandResponsibilities 

    Thesedutiesandresponsibilitiesdescribedbelowrepresentthegeneraltasksperformedonadaily basis; other tasks may beassigned. 

    • Practicemedicinewithinthescopeoflicense,training,andcredentialing
    • Practice medicineinaccordancewiththecurrentstandardsof care 
    • PracticemedicineinaccordancewiththequalitycriteriaadoptedbytheMedicalStaffBylaws 
    • Promoteasafety-consciousworkplace 
    • Evaluateandfollowupwithpatients 
    • Completepatientchartingandallpaperworkinatimelymanner 
    • Participateinthedevelopmentand/orreviewofofficepoliciesandsupportthePracticeManager in their duties 
    • Demonstratetheabilitytoassess,plan,implement,andevaluateindividualpatientcare appropriatetotheageofthepatientsservedbydemonstratingastrongworkingknowledgeofthe principles of growth anddevelopment overthelifespan 
    • Communicateappropriatelywiththeperson served,regardlessof age 
    • Attendhospital-wideorientations,meetings,andin-services 
    • Demonstrateacommitmenttoflexibleworkschedulingwhennecessarytoensurepatientcare

    EducationandExperience 

    Minimum Required Education: Graduation froman accredited Physician's Assisting programwith successful completion of theNationalCertifying Examination administered by theNational Commission ofPhysician Assistants (NCCPA) or graduation froman accredited Nurse Practitioner programwith successful completion of the National Certifying Examination. 

    PreferredEducation:Notapplicable

    Experience: 2+ years as a Physician Assistant, or Nurse Practitioner, is preferred

    Certificates, Licenses, Registrations 

    Applicantmustpossess acurrent,unrestricted licenseto work asa NursePractitioner/PhysicianAssistant intheCommonwealthofVirginiaand/ortheStateofNorthCarolina,acurrentDEAcertificationwithout restrictions,and BLS
