Nurse Practitioner - Gastroenterology

We are looking for a Nurse practitioner to join the division of Gastroenterology in the Department of Medicine at WHMC. The NP will work on a team with other medical professionals at their designated locations. The ideal candidate will:

• Consult patients with the GI Physicians to understand their health concerns and perform specialized tests to diagnose and treat patients for both inpatient and outpatient services.
• Develop and implement individualized care plans for patients.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical documentation.
• Provide patient education on various gastrointestinal conditions and promote preventive measures.
• Document patient encounters, including assessments, interventions, and outcomes, using medical record systems.
• Monitor and evaluate patient progress, adjusting treatment plans as necessary.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated and efficient patient care.

 Requirements/Qualifications:

•  A minimum of 5 years acute inpatient experience
•  NY Nurse Practitioner License
• Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program, master level
• DEA License
• 3 years of experience in gastroenterology (preferred) or at least 3 years as an Adult/ Family Nurse Practitioner
• Current BLS & ACLS certification
• Bilingual Spanish (preferred)

Full - Time (Regular)                                                                             

Shift: Monday – Friday 8:30 am – 5:00 pm
