What You’ll Do
- Provide outpatient care to complex hematology-oncology patients in a busy clinic setting
- Manage treatment visits, follow-ups, and new patient assessments
- Collaborate closely with physicians, NPs, and care team to coordinate patient care
- Monitor patient progress, administer therapies, and provide supportive care
- Follow protocols for chemotherapy and biotherapy administration
- Document patient interactions accurately in electronic health records
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to high-quality patient outcomes
What You Need
Required:- Current Nurse Practitioner license in Louisiana or the ability to obtain one
- 3-5 years Hematology/Oncology experience in a high-volume setting
- Strong clinical skills in managing complex patients with co-morbidities
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Preferred:- Experience with outpatient infusion suites and chemotherapy administration
- Excellent coordination and communication skills
About the Assignment
This position is based at a fully staffed outpatient oncology clinic in Lafayette, LA, featuring an infusion suite with 16 chairs. The clinic is staffed by experienced physicians and nurse practitioners, managing a full panel of complex patients. The clinic does not require inpatient rounding, but involves close coordination of outpatient care, treatment planning, and patient follow-up visits.
