Nurse Practitioner – Hospital Medicine (Hilton Head)

We are seeking a skilled and collaborative Nurse Practitioner to join our growing Hospital Medicine team. Experience and Skills

• Strong interest in hospital medicine and inpatient clinical care
• Ability to manage medically complex adult patients in a fast-paced hospital environment
• Strong clinical judgment, assessment, and decision-making skills
• Effective communication and interdisciplinary collaboration skills
• Ability to prioritize multiple patient-care responsibilities
• Commitment to high-quality, compassionate, and patient-centered care
• Interest in supporting program growth and clinical improvement initiatives
• Previous hospitalist, internal medicine, critical care, emergency medicine, or other inpatient experience preferred

Qualifications

• Master’s or doctoral degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program
• Current national certification as a Nurse Practitioner
• Current or eligible South Carolina Advanced Practice Registered Nurse license
• Certification appropriate for the patient population and inpatient scope of practice
• Current BLS certification
• ACLS certification required or obtained within the designated onboarding period
• Prescriptive authority and DEA registration as required for the position
• Ability to meet Novant Health credentialing and medical staff requirements

• Provide comprehensive inpatient care in collaboration with the Hospital Medicine team
• Complete patient evaluations, histories, physical examinations, and clinical assessments
• Manage admissions, daily rounding, and discharges with a focus on quality, safety, and efficiency
• Develop and implement evidence-based treatment plans
• Order and interpret diagnostic studies, laboratory testing, and medications within the scope of practice
• Respond to changes in patients’ clinical conditions and coordinate escalation of care when appropriate
• Collaborate with physicians, specialists, nursing, pharmacy, care management, rehabilitation services, and other members of the interdisciplinary team
• Educate patients and families regarding diagnoses, treatment plans, medications, and discharge instructions
• Support transitions of care and communication with outpatient providers
• Maintain accurate, timely, and complete clinical documentation
• Participate in quality improvement, patient safety, and hospital-based initiatives
• Contribute to the continued growth and development of Hospital Medicine services
• Demonstrate a strong commitment to Novant Health’s standards for patient-centered care
