Position Summary/ Department Summary:
Nurse Practitioner, Inpatient Pain Team
**This is role is considered a flex role where the provider will be covering known leave of absence in designated areas. With time this role could turn into a role that has one primary focus.**

Key Responsibilities:
  • Providing care to infants, children, adolescents, young adults with pain from acute and chronic illnesses or those weaning sedatives after a recent critical illness in the inpatient setting. 
  • Collaborating with an interdisciplinary team to conduct patient assessments, medical histories, physical exams and develop a plan of care based on the source of pain and patient needs.
  • Facilitating collaboration with members of the multidisciplinary team and other consulting services to provide comprehensive care for optimal patient outcomes.
  • Participating in quality and safety initiatives and research.
  • Providing consultation and education to staff members, patients and families as needed on pertinent topics
  • 40 hours per week, less than 50% day/night rotation, 12-hour shifts, with every 4th weekend
Minimum Qualifications
Education:
  • A Master’s Degree in Nursing
Experience:
  • 3-5 years’ experience in a pediatric setting, ideally with a pediatric intensive care background
  • Excellent critical thinking and communication skills are required
Licensure/ Certifications:
  • A current MA NP license 
  • BLS and PALS certification
This role offers a competitive sign‑on bonus ranging from $5,000 to $20,000, based on your experience.
