Position Overview

SCP Health, a physician-founded and physician-led organization, is seeking a dedicated Emergency Medicine Nurse Practitioner (NP) to join the Emergency Department at Knox Community Hospital, a community-focused acute care hospital located in Mount Vernon, Ohio.

This opportunity offers a moderate-volume Emergency Department, strong physician collaboration, and the ability to provide high-quality emergency care in a supportive and patient-centered environment. Providers benefit from predictable compensation, efficient workflows, and a stable practice setting within a respected health system.

Clinical & Program Details

  • Patient Volume: Approximately 25,000 ED visits annually
  • Specialties: Emergency Medicine
  • Coverage Model:
    • 24 hours of physician coverage daily
    • 22 hours of NP/PA coverage daily
  • Facility Type: 115-bed Community Hospital
  • Emergency Department Beds: 17
  • Acuity: Moderate
  • Shift Length: 12-hour shifts
  • Procedures: Standard emergency medicine procedures appropriate to NP scope of practice
  • Admissions/Transfers: Coordinated through hospital and physician leadership

Qualifications

  • Education: Master's or Doctorate degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program
  • Certification: Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) or Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (ACNP)
  • Licensure: Ohio Nurse Practitioner license (or ability to obtain)
  • Experience: Emergency Medicine or Urgent Care experience preferred
  • Clinical Skills: Ability to independently evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients within scope of practice
  • Certifications: BLS, ACLS, and PALS required
