Overview
The Nurse Practitioner will support the conduct of psychiatric clinical research studies by providing comprehensive clinical care and performing protocol-driven clinical activities. This role involves conducting structured psychiatric assessments, performing clinical evaluations across study visits, and completing study-related procedures including phlebotomy and laboratory ordering. This role is integral to ensuring participant safety, protocol adherence, and the collection of high-quality clinical data.
The Nurse Practitioner will monitor participants receiving investigational interventions, including, but not limited to, ketamine, intranasal esketamine, psilocybin, and other emerging therapeutics for treatment-resistant depression throughout all phases of study participation. Responsibilities include ongoing clinical assessment, identification and documentation of changes in clinical status, and coordination with the study team regarding participant care and protocol requirements. This position integrates advanced clinical practice with research operations to support the accurate and reliable conduct of clinical trials.
Required Skills and Abilities
Demonstrated knowledge of current principles, methods, and procedures for medical evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment. Possession of a CT APRN license (or eligibility) with ANA certification.
Ability to conduct informed consent procedures, support multidisciplinary clinical research projects, and participate in recruitment and assessment of study subjects.
3.Strong clinical skills in patient assessment, care management, and prescribing for patient care related to research activities.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for liaising with research team members, partners, and collaborators.
Organized and detail-oriented with the ability to function under pressure. Ability to maintain integrity in working with confidential information and make appropriate independent decisions.
