This position is with the SC Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities (DBHDD) - Office of Mental Health, Beckman Center for Mental Health Services, Laurens Mental Health Clinic, 442 Professional Park Road, Clinton SC, 29325, with onsite and telehealth service provision throughout Beckmans catchment area, as needed.

As the nurse practitioner, non-institutional, under limited supervision, you will provide psychiatric and medical treatment for patients to include interviews, examinations, diagnosis, and treatment of mental disorders. Completion of professional duties will require your analysis of a broad spectrum of problems and the planning of various, interrelated activities for quality patient care. In addition, you will provide consultations to other clinical staff members, assist with staff training, and act as a community liaison.

Responsibilities for the nurse Practitioner, non-institutional :

  • Provide emergency and routine psychiatric / medical assessments and treatment, including differential diagnosis, psychotherapy, medication management, and other services as needed/indicated to adults and children, efficiently and consistently, within standards set by the medical staff.
  • Meet with treatment team regularly to provide input/guidance/supervision of treatment planning. Review and sign treatment plans.
  • Provide administrative input for assigned clinic/program, overseeing treatment programs to ensure provision of quality care and reports in a timely manner.
  • Adhere with Compliance Standards, Maintains CPR, First Aide, and BEST certifications.

Minimum and Additional Requirements

  • Graduation from an accredited school of nursing at the masters level or doctoral level acceptable to the Board to include clinical experience.

Additional Requirements:

  • Must qualify for credentialing & privileging as a Nurse Practitioner in accordance with Quality Assurance standards & w/ concurrence by OMH Office of Quality Management.
  • Must have a valid / current SCDL.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bilingual abilities in English and Spanish (or another language) are a plus.

Post hire, employees must:

  • Understand that position is considered essential and may be called back during crises/disasters/emergencies.
  • Act in accordance to provide onsite and/or telehealth services to patients, as needed.
  • Obtain and maintain CPR, First Aid, and BEST certifications.
  • Obtain and maintain Managing Agitation in the Psychiatric Setting (MAPS) Certification.
