At the Cedars-Sinai S. Mark Taper Foundation Imaging Center, we have a wide range of imaging technologies crafted to image the heart and the coronary arteries. Our team of fellowship-trained cardiac imaging physicians specialize in the interpretation of cardiac exams.
The Nurse Practitioner (NP) in the Department of Imaging is responsible and accountable for the application of the nursing process, supervision of both exercise and pharmacological stress tests, pace maker interrogation for MRI patients and triage of interventional patient clinic operations, consultative services, inter and intradepartmental liaison, education, leadership, and patient care management across the health care continuum from preventative, acute care through discharge.
Summary of Essential Job Duties: • Provide guidance, direction, and assistance to the health care team in performing and in maintaining optimum quality of nursing care of patients in the Department of Imaging. • Incorporate both independent decision-making abilities and collaboration with the board certified/eligible physician to deliver expert care to the patients. • Participate in creation and preparation of publications and presentations. • Responsible to the medical director and the chief nursing executive (CNE) and functions as an integral part of the medical team. • Enhance competency skills through continuing education programs. • Demonstrate the ability to deliver care to special patient population and those with diverse cultural background. • Conduct evaluations of cardiac pacemakers. • Place pacemakers in MRI safe mode to ensure patient safety during scans. • Monitor patients with pacemakers during MRI exams to maintain safety and proper device functioning.
Qualifications Education: MSN Degree required Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program required
License/Certification: Current State of California Registered Nurse, Nurse Practitioner and Furnishing License National Certification as a Nurse Practitioner Current DEA License ACLS from American Heart Association or American Red Cross
Experience: Two years' experience in an acute cardiac care setting preferred Experience with Cardiac Implantable Electronic devices
