Nurse Practitioner NP

Position Summary

The Nurse Practitioner (NP) provides primary and routine medical care to patients within a clinical healthcare setting. This role is responsible for conducting patient assessments, diagnosing and treating acute and chronic conditions, ordering and reviewing diagnostic testing, prescribing medications, and coordinating ongoing patient care in accordance with established medical protocols and scope of practice guidelines.

Qualifications

• Current Nurse Practitioner license in the State of Ohio required
• Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) or Adult-Gerontology Nurse Practitioner (AGNP) certification required
• ANCC certification required
• Minimum of 1 year of Nurse Practitioner experience in a primary care or hospital medicine setting required
• Current BLS/CPR certification required
• DEA certification required or ability to obtain as required for assignment
• Board certification required
• Strong clinical assessment, diagnostic, and patient management skills
• Knowledge of chronic disease management, preventative care, and evidence-based treatment practices
• Ability to maintain accurate and timely medical documentation
• Strong communication, collaboration, and critical thinking skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous correctional healthcare experience preferred
• Experience working with underserved or high-acuity patient populations preferred
• Experience collaborating within interdisciplinary healthcare teams preferred
