Opportunity Information:

Sansum Medical Group is seeking a compassionate and patient-focused Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) to join our growing Hematology/Oncology team at the renowned Ridley-Tree Cancer Center in beautiful Santa Barbara, California.

 

This is an outstanding opportunity to work alongside experienced Hematologists and Oncologists in a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment dedicated to delivering exceptional cancer care.

Position Highlights

  • Full-time Hematology/Oncology practice
  • Work under the supervision and mentorship of experienced Hematology/Oncology physicians
  • No call responsibilities
  • Collaborative and supportive team environment
  • Opportunity to perform bone marrow biopsies (if interested and trained)
  • Dedicated focus on comprehensive cancer care and symptom management

Responsibilities

The NP or PA will provide direct patient care to Hematology and Oncology patients throughout the continuum of treatment, including:

  • Conducting follow-up visits and routine patient evaluations
  • Seeing patients throughout chemotherapy and treatment regimens
  • Managing urgent and same-day sick visits
  • Providing survivorship and post-treatment care
  • Delivering comprehensive symptom management and supportive care
  • Educating patients and families about diagnoses, treatments, and care plans
  • Collaborating closely with physicians, nursing staff, pharmacists, and multidisciplinary care teams
  • Supporting patients in achieving their treatment goals and maintaining quality of life
  • Performing bone marrow biopsies, if desired and appropriately credentialed

 

Qualifications:
    • Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program
    • Active California NP or PA license (or ability to obtain)
    • DEA License
    • Excellent communication and patient care skills
    • Strong commitment to compassionate, patient-centered oncology care

    Preferred

    • 1–2 years of Hematology/Oncology or Internal Medicine experience
    • Experience managing complex medical conditions and chronic disease
