Opportunity Information:

Advanced Practice Clinician- Medical Oncology

Antioch, CA -1.0 FTE

Sutter East Bay Medical Group (SEBMG) is seeking an experienced Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our growing Oncology program in Antioch, CA at Sutter Delta Medical Center.

This unique position offers the opportunity to help establish and grow a new oncology practice location in partnership with a Medical Director and multidisciplinary oncology team. The APC will play a key role in developing clinical programs, supporting infusion services, coordinating patient care, and expanding access to oncology services within the community.

  • Opportunity to help launch and grow a new oncology practice location
  • Work closely with a dedicated Medical Director providing both virtual and onsite support
  • Collaborative multidisciplinary environment including nursing, infusion, navigation, pharmacy, and specialty services
  • Significant autonomy with physician collaboration and mentorship
  • Opportunity to develop specialized clinics aligned with community needs, including survivorship, supportive oncology, high-risk cancer evaluation, and rapid-access diagnostic pathways

The APC will provide comprehensive oncology care under established collaborative practice agreements and will:

  • Conduct oncology follow-up and treatment management visits
  • Evaluate and manage patients receiving systemic therapy
  • Perform symptom management and toxicity assessments
  • Coordinate care across disciplines and specialties
  • Provide survivorship care and long-term treatment monitoring
  • Support infusion center operations and same-day patient needs
  • Participate in treatment planning discussions with supervising physicians
  • Assist with triage and urgent oncology evaluations
  • Collaborate with nursing and infusion staff regarding treatment-related concerns
  • Contribute to quality improvement and patient experience initiatives

The APC will have a unique opportunity to help establish and grow services including:

  • Survivorship programs
  • Symptom management clinics
  • Rapid-access oncology evaluation clinics
  • Workup and navigation of patients with newly identified masses or suspected malignancies
  • Patient education and supportive care programs
  • Community outreach and referral relationship development
Qualifications:
  • Current California Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant license
  • Active DEA registration
  • National board certification
  • Minimum 2 years of oncology experience preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently in a collaborative environment

Preferred

  • Experience in medical oncology practice
  • Familiarity with infusion therapies and treatment toxicity management
  • Experience with survivorship care
  • Program development or leadership experience
  • Strong communication and care coordination skills
