NURSE PRACTITIONER OR PHYSICIAN ASSISTANT-NOCTURNIST ELIZABETHTON

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Perform patient assessments; obtain patient medical and social histories, diagnostic testing, and take vital signs.
• Evaluate signs and symptoms.
• Interpret/evaluate diagnostic tests and laboratory results.
• Monitor/review patient care and treatment plans.
• Provide education and counseling of patient and family in preventative care, medical conditions, and use of prescribed treatments/drugs.
• Refer patients to physicians or other healthcare professionals/facilities as needed and monitors outcome of the referral.
• Provide on-call coverage for evenings and weekends as needed.
• Maintain patient confidentiality.
• Follow all organizational and governmental healthcare policies and procedures.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Nurse Practitioner - bachelor's degree in nursing and successful completion of a nurse practitioner program at the master level
• Physician Assistant - Graduate of accredited PA program

EXPERIENCE:

Three or more years of professional experience as a nurse practitioner or physician assistant, ideally in the specific area.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:

• Registered Nurse Licensure
• ANCC Certified as a nurse practitioner in a specialty area or PA.
